In September of 2013, I did my first Crossfit workout in a friend’s garage. I was “working out” but it was more like playing a team sport than exercise and I was hooked. Despite developing a hatred for toes to bar, I continued to go. I went to several different CF boxes (both military and civilian) before getting my CF-L1 certificate and started coaching, and I was hooked again.
I started coaching in Okinawa, Japan in 2019 and started coaching at Mainstreet shortly after moving back to the U.S. in 2022. Since then, I have gotten my CF-L2 coaches certificate. I still love it. I love seeing our athletes hit fitness goals, set new personal records, and improve their skills. I have even developed an appreciation for toes to bar . . . Though I would much rather do double unders.
